Solbiate Olona, March 12, 2024. The ARF Component Commanders' Conference was held today at the operational headquarters of NRDC-ITA, with all Commanders of the NATO tactical-level units that will constitute the Allied Reaction Force (ARF) starting next 1^st July.

The NRDC-ITA Commander, Lieutenant General Lorenzo D'Addario, welcomed ITA NMR (Italian National Military Representative) from Shape and the commanders of 1^st UK Division, ESP JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command), CFSpCC (Combined Force Space Component Commander), ITMARFOR (Italian Maritime Forces), SOFCOM (Allied Special Operations Forces Command), MND-S (Multinational Division-South) and AIRCOM (Allied Air Command) to provide guidance and receive a feedback on their readiness, with particular focus also to the upcoming exercises of NRDC-ITA's ARF HQ. 

The Allied Reaction Force will be a new multinational, multi-domain force that will offer additional options for rapidly countering to threats and crises.

From this year on, NRDC-ITA will meet multiple operational challenges, including military exercises, academic studies, and staff training, culminating with the Steadfast Deterrence exercise next May. 

This new role will also strengthen the relationships already established by the NATO Command in Milan, enabling it to collaborate with new partners and allies to share expertise and experience, while demonstrating the best principles of cohesion and legitimacy. 

The choice of NRDC-ITA confirms Italy's commitment to the Alliance and to the deterrence and defense of the Euro-Atlantic area.
