Solbiate Olona, Italy – 27 July 2026 – The Commander of the Allied Reaction Force (ARF) has completed a series of visits to the newly assigned ARF 2026 Component Commands, reaffirming NATO's commitment to interoperability, readiness and multinational cooperation.
The programme included engagements with the 3e Division de l'Armée de Terre as the Land Component Command (LCC), the UK Strike Force as the Maritime Component Command (MCC), the UK Special Forces (UKSF) as the Special Operations Component Command (SOCC), the Commandement de l'Appui et de la Logistique de Théâtre (CALT) as the Joint Logistic Support Group (JLSG), and the Commandement de la Défense Aérienne et des Opérations Aériennes (CDAOA) as the Joint Force Air Component Command (JFACC).
The visits provided an opportunity to strengthen professional relationships, exchange perspectives on the key objectives of the ARF 2026 rotation, and further enhance interoperability and standardization across the multinational force. Discussions focused on operational planning, the coordination of forthcoming mission rehearsals, and the continued development of innovation initiatives to enhance the Alliance's readiness and responsiveness.
Particular attention was devoted to synchronizing planning efforts across the Component Commands and ensuring a common understanding of the operational priorities for the ARF 2026 rotation. These exchanges highlighted the importance of maintaining close coordination throughout the ARF readiness cycle, fostering a shared operational culture and further strengthening multinational integration across all domains.
The discussions also covered preparations for the 2027 mission rehearsal, aimed at improving interoperability and demonstrating the rapid projection of force through the integration of the Allied Reaction Force's multinational and multi-domain capabilities.
The visit programme marked another important milestone in strengthening the cohesion of the ARF 2026 force package, further enhancing the integration of its Land, Air, Maritime, Special Operations and Logistic Components under the leadership of NRDC-ITA. These multinational capabilities ensure that the Allied Reaction Force remains a credible, agile and highly responsive instrument of NATO's deterrence and defence posture.
