UK STRIKE FORCE


The role of Commander United Kingdom Strike Force (CSF) is to command national or Allied maritime forces, or combined/joint forces anywhere in the world, when directed by the Fleet Commander, Commander Joint Operations (CJO), or Allied commanders, to execute missions. 

CSF is the UK 2* National Contingency Commander Maritime (NCC(M)) and is also capable of undertaking the roles of: Allied Response Force Maritime (ARF(M)) Maritime Component Commander (MCC), Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) MCC, Combined Expeditionary Force (CEF) MCC and Coalition MCC.

Mission

CSF assumed the role of ARF(M) on 01 July 2026, taking over from the Spanish Navy. When activated by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), the ARF units will deploy from Land, Sea, and Air, to anywhere in the NATO area of operations to Defend and Deter. 

RAdm Mark Anderson CBE (COMCSF) remarked, “the UK remains committed to NATO and taking command of the maritime component of the ARF is a clear demonstration to all our partners and Allies that the RN will play its part in responding to crisis, conflict and competition”.
