SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 27th May 2017. Today at "Ugo Mara" barracks, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy held their fourteenth International Day, a Day for charity.
The event was an opportunity for fun and socializing, with families as the main focus together for Charity. During the event, the cohesive spirit of the cultures of the 13 different nations that make up NRDC-ITA were strengthened, as well as the celebration enhancing the synergy between the people of the NRCD-ITA and local institutions, associations and organizations.
Over 2,000 soldiers serving in the "Mara" and their loved ones took this chance to concretely express solidarity. The organisation of the International Day raised money from 52 generous sponsors, from the International Military Staff, and from the very welcome guests of the event in favour of the ASST “Valle Olona”, the local Health Service, for the enhancement of paediatric wards of hospital facilities in the area.
Two commemorative postcards, realised in collaboration with Poste Italiane, the national Postal Service, were available with a dedicated special postmark to celebrate this special occasion.
The International Day is the day we celebrate the multinational soul of our Headquarter - the diversity who make us stronger - and it represents a way to thank local institutions and communities for their support to the servicemen and women.
