Sat 21 Sept – Solbiate Olona. The annual International and Charity Day and newcomer’s family orientation day of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) took place today at the “Ugo Mara” barracks.

Now in its nineteenth edition, this year’s event saw representatives of the 20 contributing nations gather with their friends and families to celebrate their respective cultures and traditions and donate to charity. The sponsors and the soldiers gathered also to raise money for the non-profit organization APS “disabled families” of Regione Lombardia which helps and supports family members with disability.

The event saw various national stands, offering national food and drink, as well as cultural activities of the 20 member countries.

This day underlined the commitment of NRDC-ITA men and women to strengthening strong relationships with the local community. Whilst primarily focused on the maintenance of international security through collective defence, they are equally adept at supporting local worthy causes too.
