Solbiate Olona, Italy – 28 April 2026. NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) hosted a visit attended by representatives of the Allied nations of the Operations Policy Committee (OPC) of NATO Headquarters, welcoming a delegation led by Ms. Charlotte Hallengren, Director for
Operations, NATO International Staff (IS).
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen dialogue and enhance mutual understanding between NATO Headquarters and NRDC-ITA at a particularly significant time, as the Corps is providing leadership to the Allied Reaction Force (ARF). In this pivotal role for NATO, NRDC-ITA continues in ensuring high readiness, operational coherence, and the Alliance’s ability to respond rapidly and effectively to emerging challenges across and beyond the Euro-Atlantic area.
Specifically, the interaction with IS and OPC delegation contributed to emphasize the great effort made over the last few years by NATO and Contributing Nations to consolidate ARF. The program included senior-level engagements, and a series of presentations focused on ARF organization, mission, potential tasks and current core areas. Particular attention focused on capability development and Multinational and Multi-Domain operational integration, with dedicated presentations on C2 AI-enabled tools such as MAVEN.
The sessions were followed by open discussions with subject-matter experts and senior staff to identify the key aspects of ARF experience and outline its possible trends and commitments in the near future.
The visit highlighted the strong bond between NATO Headquarters and NRDC-ITA and underlined the Corps’ continued commitment to supporting the Alliance through readiness, innovation, and operational excellence. At the same time, the event demonstrated, once again, the capability advantages for NATO and nations underpinned the ARF initiative.
By hosting the IS/Operations Policy Committee, NRDC-ITA reaffirmed its capacity of fostering strategic dialogue and contributing to the adaptation of the Alliance to an evolving security environment.
