The annual International and newcomers’ families orientation day was held on 19 September at the “Ugo Mara” Barracks in Solbiate Olona, gathering military and civilian personnel, representatives of NATO contributing nations, and their families to celebrate the vibrant multinational community serving at NRDC-ITA.
Throughout the event, national representatives showcased their cultures, traditions, and heritage through dedicated national exhibition stands. The gathering also provided a warm welcome to newly assigned personnel and their families, fostering deeper mutual understanding within the diverse community that drives the Corps’ mission.
The celebration took place against the backdrop of an increasingly demanding security environment, in which NRDC-ITA actively includes operational commitments through the Allied Reaction Force (ARF), continuous Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Team (OLRT) activities, and maintaining a high state of preparedness to support rapid deployment whenever required.
In this operational context, cohesion, interoperability, and seamless integration across multinational components remain essential enablers of effectiveness. Innovation, continuous integration, and mission rehearsal further ensure that NRDC-ITA remains ready to respond decisively to a wide range of contingencies.
Beyond its cultural dimension, the International Day reaffirmed that the true strength of a multinational headquarters relies on its people. By uniting nations, personnel, and families, the event reinforced the bonds of trust and mutual respect that enable NRDC-ITA to operate as one team in unwavering support of the Alliance.
One Community. Many Nations. One Team.
